My niece’s first quilt

My niece went to a retreat with me the other day.  This was her second retreat and she worked on the quilt she began at the first one.  Although these blocks were randomly placed on the flannel, you can tell this one will be amazing when it is finished.  I think I could sew this style of quilt for many years.  They are always so beautiful.  Great job Anya!!!

About Patti

Fabric designs are amazing. They are like paint, but with details. I sort of have a thing for repetitive design. My favorite part of making quilts is the selection of fabrics. Every city I have lived in...people compliment me on my fabric choices. I have taught classes on this aspect and won a number of awards for my quilts. It is my desire to come alongside quilters who are shy about fabric selection and help teach them to look at things differently so as to become more confident in their own choices.

And I will still be doing this style some more as I have a few in the works. Every time I go out and look at fabric, I find ones that would make a really cool “One Block Wonder” like this one. You train your eye to see what fabrics probably would work.
